Coalmont Soap Works & Tie Dye began during the winter of 2020, in the midst of the pandemic. Sam, our founder, found herself spending hours in the kitchen baking, but she wanted to create something more lasting—something she couldn’t eat! When she was gifted a bar of handmade soap, it sparked an idea. After diving into research and experimenting with her own creations, Sam’s soap-making journey quickly flourished.

 

The following year, Sam’s creative exploration expanded after attending a Wellness Wednesday event at the local high school. There, art teacher Shirley Low introduced her to tie dye, and Sam instantly fell in love with the vibrant, artistic process. This new passion, paired with her growing love for soap-making, gave rise to Coalmont Soap Works & Tie Dye—a space for handmade creativity and colourful expression.
